Playback settings

Apple Music → Settings → Playback

• Lossless Audio: On; streaming and downloads: Hi-Res Lossless.
• Crossfade, Sound Enhancer, Sound Check and Dolby Atmos: Off.

AMExclusive controls in the Playback page

• Exclusive mode: On.
• Hardware buffer: 20 ms by default; accepts 1–100 ms. Select the confirmation button; applies when the next song opens exclusive output. Increase if playback is unstable.

Windows settings

Windows → Settings → System → Sound → output device: turn Spatial sound off.

Hardware volume

Lower amplifier or DAC/amp volume first. Keep Apple Music and Windows volume at maximum; control listening volume on the amplifier or DAC/amp. For a separate DAC, keep its output volume at maximum.

Quality policy

The highest available lossless quality policy remains active with exclusive mode off. Slow connections may buffer.
